Last Thursday Google unveiled Hummingbird, an upgrade to their search algorithm. According to Google it was introduced a 
month ago and already comprises 90% of searches. Its focus is specifically for longer and more complex queries. The algorithmic change leans toward intelligent, conversational requests rather than just indexing websites. Its more of an extension of the Google Knowledge Graph. With the increase in cell phone usage and a drop in laptop and desktop sales, obviously Google has an idea where technology headed and have decided to focus on this capability in order to keep pace with Apple and other competitors.
